News from the Elders: October ‘22 Recap

REJOICING IN REACHING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH THE “HARVEST FEST ‘22” EVENT
Hundreds of community neighbors flooded our campus on October 22 to participate in the “Harvest Fest ‘22” event.  The event was designed to serve, meet needs, and provide critical information to the community neighbors surrounding RCC, while also providing some fun and delicious food for all.  22 separate booths were sponsored by local para-church organizations affiliated with RCC or members of our Church body.  We had a great opportunity to meet and serve many of our neighbors, provide them with important information, and enjoy a time of fun, food, and fellowship.  Thank you to our Community Group and Outreach ministries for planning and hosting this event.

THANKFUL FOR OUR GLOBAL MISSIONARIES
On October 23, RCC devoted our Sunday Worship Services to highlighting our strategic Global Missions Partnership with International Christian Ministries (ICM).  The featured speaker was Dave Champness, President of ICM, and he delivered a message entitled, “The Scarlet Thread”.  In his message, Dave highlighted various passages from Genesis to Revelation that reveal the entirety of the Bible is one connected story about Jesus.  The Bible is the story of how God restores sinful fallen man by redeeming and reconciling him through Jesus.  In addition, Dave provided an update on how the Lord is working through ICM to provide opportunities to fulfill the Great Commission. For more information concerning our Global Mission emphasis at RCC, we encourage you to visit the “Supported Missionaries” page of our church website.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS TO RCC
We are pleased to welcome 15 new members, who recently attended the Membership session on October 16.  Membership is offered a few times a year and encourages each participant to embrace our commitment to discipleship, our Statement of Faith, and our Core Values.  One of the highlights of each session is the opportunity for the Elders/Pastors to hear the spiritual stories of each participant.

GRATEFUL FOR THE LORD CONTINUING TO BRING NEW PEOPLE TO RCC
On October 2, RCC hosted 25 new adults and children who just started attending the church and are considering making RCC their home.  The Newcomer’s Lunch occurs every two to three months and is an opportunity for new people to meet some of our Pastoral Staff and hear about who we are and where the Lord is leading us in the future.

“Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
