PRAY FOR THE MIDDLE EAST

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! "May they be secure who love you!
(Psalm 122:6 ESV)

Why is the Middle East so Important to the World?
The global economy runs on fossil fuels, and the Middle East holds roughly half of the world’s proven oil reserves and nearly 40% of its natural gas. The Middle East sits at the junction of Africa, Asia, and Europe controlling the world's most vital maritime strategic "choke points.” The region is the birthplace of the three major Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Why is the Middle East so Important to the God?
Jerusalem, the apple of God’s eye (Zec 2:8) is located there. Jerusalem is “The city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High” (Psalm 46:4). It was the site of the first and second temples. Jerusalem is where our Lord was crucified for our sins and where He will return to reign. It is the place about which the LORD said, “This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it” (Psalm 132:13-14 ESV).

How to Pray

  • Pray that our brothers and sisters throughout the Middle East will know the comfort of the Lord.
  • Pray that the Lord will preserve and grow their faith.
  • Pray that they will show the love and compassion of Christ to those who are suffering.
  • Pray that the recent Middle East conflict will result in many coming to know Christ as their Savior.
