We believe God made children tender and are ripe for learning spiritual truths. This is the best time to help them grow spiritually. Matthew 11:25-26 says, “At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.” The Cambridge Bible says of this passage, “The secrets of the kingdom are not revealed to those who are wise in their own conceit, but to those who have the meekness of infants and the child-like eagerness for knowledge.”
It is encouraging to know that we serve a Big God, who wills for our children to understand His word and who has given us everything we need to disciple our children; His Son, His Word, and the Holy Spirit.
Our Challenge to our families:
In fact, that’s our Mission Statement:
Children would
GROW deep roots into His Word and
GO share their faith with others.
Objective
To support families’ discipleship in the home by teaching God’s Word through loving volunteers.

Many of them have been in The Harbor for four years and that is a lot of learning God's Word and character, spiritual growth, and fellowship to celebrate!

Angels and shepherds and…talking sheep? Oh, my!
People everywhere are making the journey to the place of their birth, in compliance with Caesar’s decree that everyone should register for the census. This results in the little town of Bethlehem overflowing with people arriving from out of town. Nathaniel, a lovable but scatter-brained, late-for-work shepherd, bumps into two of those travelers, Joanna and Simone, as he rushes to take his shift at watching the flock. The other shepherds (his sisters Miriam and Abigail), along with Judah, are waiting for Nathaniel—late once again—to arrive. Thus begins a story that is All About That Baby, with some shepherds, angels, “out-of-towners”…and singing, talking sheep to guide us along the way!

AWANA is a world-wide nonprofit ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship solutions for ages 2-18.
AWANA is not a RiverLakes Church program, but we graciously host the club and serve in it because we highly believe in its discipleship process, both for clubbers and for families. As a separate ministry, the club does not fall under schools, nor church, therefore allowing us to continue to host the club on campus with CDC precaution guidelines.
