Pastoral Officiating Request & Date Confirmation

We place a high value on healthy marriages. Plan now to prepare for your marriage, not just your wedding day. In order for you to get married at RiverLakes you will need to do the following:

  1. Complete the wedding application and premarital agreement forms. Download here.
  2. Schedule an appointment with a RiverLakes pastor for a premarital interview. Bring your application and premarital agreement with you to your appointment. If you do not have a pastor preference, please schedule with Pastor Brent Van Elswyk.
  3. Your date will be confirmed with a $75 deposit at your appointment with the pastor.

Premarital Counseling

Weddings can be a beautiful and exciting time, but we urge you to look beyond the wedding day to building a beautiful and lifelong marriage. We believe that couples who seriously participate in premarital counseling will have a better understanding of the marriage commitment and will be better prepared to enter this sacred relationship. For this reason, those being married by one of RCC’s pastors are required to participate in our eight-week premarital counseling class and begin the process at least six months before the wedding. We require premarital counseling whether first, second, additional marriages, or a letter from another pastor. We will cover topics such as marriage roles, finances, expectations, healthy conflict and intimacy.

Wedding Hostess

Careful planning is essential in all your preparations. To assist you in this, our church wedding hostess is required and provided for you at no extra charge. The wedding hostess will direct the rehearsal as well as the ceremony. She will also be on hand throughout the wedding to coordinate the many things that must be cared for so the bridal party can be as free of anxiety as possible. Please be aware that the wedding hostess is not meant to fulfill a wedding planner’s duties.

We can reserve dates up to 12 months in advance. If you have any questions, please contact Marilyn Webster in the church office at 661.589.9733 x.219 or email her at
