Galatians 4:6 provides us with the beauty of our triune God. We see a picture of the unity of the Father, Son and Spirit as well as their distinct roles.
Consider the words, “born of a woman, under the law.” Jesus was born fully man in the flesh. He was subject to the Old Testament Law and lived it out perfectly. His purpose in coming was to redeem us from the law. We can now have relationship with God. He also gave us the Holy Spirit as a promise or seal of our sonship that gives us the ability to call him in prayer.
All of this is a reminder that he didn’t purchase us to make us slaves, but sons! A servant doesn’t have the closeness that a child would have to their father. A servant obeys out of fear. A son obeys out of love.
Thank you Father for sending Jesus for our redemption from sin and calling us your children.
